A good first book for a baby, Winter Friends by Carl Sams is composed of simple text and photographs. The dominant colors black, white and red are just whats recommended to visually stimulate babies. Toddlers will enjoy pointing out the snowmen and different animals in this hardcover book. My 14-month old particularly likes to have this read to him just before nap time. It seems to calm him down after a busy day of play.
