Books about Books!
We are a family of book lovers. Every trip to the library means armloads of books on the way in and out. But with the thousands upon thousands of books available, it still pays to be picky. These are the books that have helped me choose what books to read to my child, what I should allow them to read, what I should *encourage* them to read, and which ones I should avoid. These authors take children’s books very seriously, so it’s not just about whether kids should be reading or not. The overall message differs among these books(e.g., the one by Michael O’Brien is geared more towards Christian/Catholic parents), but I keep and refer to all of them often. They become most useful to hubby and me towards the holidays and birthdays, and I am happy to say we have yet to be steered wrong.
