SpellingFun.com Website for Teaching Kids to Spell

by Hsien-Hsien Lei on November 6th, 2005

We’re not quite at the stage where we’re teaching spelling at our house. But my son has shown an interest and now knows how to spell simple three letter words, the most important of which is…you guessed it! T-O-Y

Charine Gey Van Pittius, a specialist in remedial teaching, has created the airport-themed SpellingFun.com. From their FAQ:

Spellingfun.com is for children who need help to improve their spelling. The multilevel course has modules to help children with limited reading skills and progresses to modules for more accomplished spellers who lack consistent strategies.

This site is also for parents who are concerned about their children’s spelling and are keen to help them improve.

Children who are learning English as a second language will find the structured, user friendly approach very helpful.

Adults who struggled with spelling before can work through all the strategies systematically.

Whatever your needs, spellingfun.com could help you improve your spelling.

Registration and assessment are free. A three-month comprehensive spelling course is US$29.95.

My daughter really enjoys SpellingFun.com Thank you for telling us about it!
Her confidence was boosted by the fun lessons. I like the way they tested her levels first. It was just what she needed.
It’s not too difficult so that she feels overwellmed, but it does stretch her a bit.

    Cheers
    Adrian
