Rapper 50 Cent On Violent Video Games

by Hsien-Hsien Lei on November 22nd, 2005

Rapper 50 Cent on violent video games for children:

The person that’s influenced by a video game can be influenced by anything. If we have to take away video games, then we have to think about other things. And then we have no entertainment because we might influence somebody who’s crazy.

I don’t advocate censorship, but I do think parents need to carefully judge their own children’s maturity level and ability to understand the difference between real life and a game. Just because we’re surrounded by gratuitous violence peddled to us from every angle isn’t an excuse to shrug our shoulders and throw up our hands. Fight the power!
