Science for Kids

by Hsien-Hsien Lei on January 4th, 2006

Coming from a science background, there is nothing more important to me than imparting a love of science to my son. He’s only three now, but I’m already looking forward to creating some havoc with science kits.

Ironman at Political Calculations pointed to a list of ideas kids have about science. Here are my favorites:

  • Most books now say our sun is a star. But it still knows how to change back into a sun in the daytime.
  • Lime is a green-tasting rock.
  • Some people can tell what time it is by looking at the sun. But I have never been able to make out the numbers.
  • To most people solutions mean finding the answers. But to chemists solutions are things that are still all mixed up.

Have your kids made any interesting scientific observations?
