Charlie and Lola

by Hsien-Hsien Lei on February 27th, 2006

Without internet access at home (one month and counting), I’ve been watching more TV than usual. That, of course, includes children’s programming with my three-year-old son. One of our favorite shows, which we’d never seen before outside the UK, is Charlie and Lola.

Charlie is Lola’s older brother who is so kind and understanding it almost makes me tear up at times. It seems that he’s about 11 or 12 years old and Lola around 5 or 6. She’s always up to some adorable antics which Charlie lovingly tolerates. Not a show goes by without Charlie and Lola giggling and coming to a greater understanding of the world and of each other.

The first DVD of Charlie and Lola was recently released. You’ve got to see the show too for its delightful collage effects.

We get Charlie and Lola here in the States courtesy of Disney Channel. Mack absolutely LOVES that program. I think it’s a wonderful show, and if I happen to be passing through the living room when it’s on, I will usually stop and watch it for a bit.

I love the show too. I feel the same way when I see how patient Charlie is with Lola. It’s so cute.
