Emotional TV’s for Children
My son’s not lacking for toys by any means. But, he doesn’t have this huggable 10′ LCD TV which Hannspree believes every child needs.
Other designs include:
- Giraffe
- Elephant
- Lion
- Firetruck
- Helicopter
Bruno Choquet, sales director of Hannspree France:
The idea was to create an ‘emotional’ television so that the child truly has ‘his’ TV that does not look like the others.
I honestly don’t know if children need TV’s of their own at all let alone one that doesn’t look like their friends’.

It is a creative idea, but I don’t like it. It is just another way to have children glued to the TV. Maybe it is just me, but is it good for kids to be that physically close to the TV. Why do they need a TV to hug anyhow?
What every child needs to have is more time spent outside. I notice that children don’t spend that much time playing and exploring outside anymore. They are either watching TV or playing video games online or on TV. Then, when they get a little older, they spend more time on the internet. We should encourage children to enjoy the outdoors a little bit more.
