Children’s Books for Every Occasion: Babysitting

For the first time in over three years yesterday, my husband and I went out alone without our son. My parents are visiting and they make the best babysitters ever. They all had a great time and S was sleeping soundly when we got home.

Just in case you haven’t left your child with a babysitter yet, Mercer Mayer’s classic Just Me and My Babysitter is a fun way to introduce the idea of babysitters to your child.

In this lively picture book, he sees himself as the baby sitter’s big helper, but his help ends up turning the house upside down. By the end of the evening Little Critter and his little sister still have energy to spare, while the well-meaning sitter is utterly exhausted.
