Games for Health
Parents know that games and play are critical for kids. They learn all sorts of things while playing from concrete skills such gamesmanship and rules to a general appreciation of how to relax and have fun.
Game technologies have also been useful in healthcare. When you see all the great ways games are being put to use in managing health conditions such as diabetes, maybe you won’t think all the hours your kids spend playing could be put to better use. In fact, maybe parents should be playing too (I know my husband is) and training their brain.
If you’re interested in learning more, Games for Health Day is being held on May 9, 2006 in Los Angeles, California.

Sounds like a good idea. I wish they had it for the PDA, though. It would not make much sense to buy a Nintendo DS just for Brain Age. PDA would be more practical.

CaptnSaj: Thanks for your comment! If you were my husband, you’d have every kind of gaming device available so this wouldn’t be a concern. ;)

Brain training games are also popular with the older set and one made in Japan is handheld with puzzles based on math and Japanese spelling. I suppose a PDA with a panel of games installed might be appreciated as well. I know my dad still enjoys playing Freecell and I taught my mom how to play Sudoku just last month. [...]
