Glow-in-the-Dark Children’s Underwear

by Hsien-Hsien Lei on April 25th, 2006

Last night, we made a strange discovery. My son’s Hanes boys boxer briefs glow in the dark! Very curious.

Do you or your kids’ underwear glow in the dark?

They put that on a lot of kids’ clothes it seems. The boys usually like it, but the littlest was a bit disconcerted over the glowing doggie bones on his pj’s. I hadn’t even realized there WERE doggie bones on it until we put him to bed and turned off the lights. heh. One of those kid-prints that is fairly busy, so not-noticing isn’t hard to do.

No glowing underwear in our house yet though. I bet the husband would find it more amusing than the kids hehehe.

In non-clothes relatedness, I bought a skein of the new DMC Light Effects- the glow-in-the-dark color. :D I haven’t used it yet, but there’s a glowing smudge in my clear-plastic craft drawer at night.

I don’t think I want to meet the person who thought this one up . . . or at least not the one who approved the doggie bones. :)

[...] Play Library this morning reminded me of the fact that companies are still making glow-in-the-dark underwear for kids. I’m sure they are a lot more plentiful now then they were twenty odd years ago, but they must have been pretty popular to have such staying power! [...]
