AblePlay: Toys for Kids with Special Needs

by Hsien-Hsien Lei on June 28th, 2006

If your child has a disability (and even if they don’t), AblePlay can help you find just the right toy. They rate each toy in four different disability categories: physical, sensory, communicative, and cognitive along with detailed reviews.

For instance, this Bill and Bud Rib-It-Ball that we own is rated five stars in the physical category. And I agree that it’s great for physical exercise because it’s lightweight, can be tossed very high, and kept aloft even by small children. It’s also sturdy enough not to pop despite the silicone balloon insert.
