Results of Banning Toy Guns Poll
When I wrote last week about banning toy guns, it elicited a number of strong reactions including one from Kate of Babylune. And the results of our poll is now in.
Should toy guns be banned?
- Yes said 35% (7)
- No said 55% (11)
- Undecided said 10% (2)
I’ll admit that I was one of those who said “no” because I believe that toy guns that don’t look like real guns are simply toys. With appropriate discussions, kids should be able to understand that guns hurt people–even water and air guns–and should never be aimed at someone’s face. Guns or any other toy should also be put away if anyone feels uncomfortable or gets hurt.
