Nostalgia Toy #2: Fisher Price Corn Popper
I don’t remember playing with the Fisher Price Corn Popper myself, but I do remember my sister (who’s a few years younger than me) annoying the snot out of me with it when she was a baby. Hmmm….she started awfully early with that trend, didn’t she?
Anyway, I thought I’d seen the last of it until one of my very dearest friends (or so I thought) bought my oldest one for her first birthday. Thanks. :D
My youngest is now perfecting the art of driving mommy insane with his constant pop-pop-popping around the house. It is quite nostalgic, though, to remember my baby sister using it and now seeing her niece and nephews enjoy the same toy. And quite a durable toy, as well.
As for that friend? Well, let’s just say her dear children haven’t had a birthday celebrated without some fun, loud toy of their own. It became almost a tradition of “let’s see who can make the other lose their mind first.” I think she won.

We loved our popper. LOL. My grandmother would find the most wonderful things. The toy gun “blasters” come to mind immediately.. they had a dial, which let you choose one of many different phaser/blaster/spaceguns sounds. All noisy. I can’t find an image of the toy, but I found a patent that seems to describe the kind we had. The image pdf looks similar at any rate.

My mom recently bought my oldest the “Princess Electric Keyboard.” I told her it had to stay at her house. I don’t think I could deal with another noisemaker at mine! :D
