Fireman Birthday Party
The kids and I recently attended a fireman-themed birthday party. The coolest part? A real fire truck and 3 firemen arrived at the party! Apparently, you can request for the fire department to come out to your house. As long as there’s no fire or emergency during your scheduled time, they will come out and give a demonstration to the kids.
The firefighters of the Beavercreek Fire Department were great. They gave a demonstration of quickly getting into their firefighting gear, and had the kids come over and touch the firefighter fully suited up. A great idea, we all thought, so that our kids will recognize a figherfighter as a safe person should they ever face them in an emergency situation. The firefighters also gave a tour of the fire engine, explaining all of their tools and the uses for each. They even entertained the 101 questions coming from my two year old. Truly my heroes!

Great idea! Whenever we see a fire truck parked at the supermarket (and why is there almost always one?!), we go for a look-see. More often than not, the firefighters are very friendly and make a great impression on S.

It really was great. The firefighters were very friendly and very adept with the kids! I’m keeping this idea in mind for us one day. :D I’m wondering what other kind of “hero” parties would be possible with free visits from those heroes.

[…] We’ve mentioned birthday party themes a couple of times here, but never have we mentioned a magician themed party. But that’s because no one has those anymore, right? Those are as out of date as relay race parties in the backyard, right? […]
