Coats for Kids
A few months ago, I expressed some skepticism about the Pajama Program, which provides pajamas and books to underserved children. I think Barb Bechard, the Coat Lady, has a better idea. She has bought and collected more than 1,500 for the Salvation Army.
Sometimes when I go into a store and I see children with no coats on, I’m thinking the coats that I buy today might be on their backs tomorrow.
Way to go, Barb!

What a wonderful thing, they have something like that up here (as coats are extremely useful in our climate).

Michelle: Hi! Welcome to Play Library. I’m in London and it’s starting to get chilly here. I can’t imagine what it must be like to be cold everyday without a coat. Poor kids. :(

A meteorologist for a local station heads up a coat/mittens/hat drive each year. Good to see the volunteerism and sense of community in the midst of all the other news.
