Recipes for Kids

I feel like shouting out a big, “Hallelujah!” right about now. I thought I’d go search out some fun recipes that you can make with your kids as you’re waiting out the long winter months indoors. I was so bummed to see so many sites that didn’t have any photos to go along with their recipes. I mean, it’s not that hard to whip out the camera to get a shot of ants on a log, is it? And I’m sure that my kids are as neurotic as I am when it comes to cooking, and would want to know exactly what their finished product should look like, right?

Okay, probably not. It is, however, the one thing that bothered me about Emeril’s There’s A Chef In My Soup cookbook. The recipes looked great, but all of the illustrations were cartoonish, and not helpful (I thought) when a kid is trying to really see what certain ingredients and dishes might look like.

Anyway, I was really excited to find the site KidsKuisine which pictured most of the recipes that were featured. The photos are colorful and fun, and the recipes look like snacks that the kids will love to make. I’ll definitely be visiting back there soon! For now, I may have to run off and make those Pumpkin Gut Nachos pictured above. Yum. :D
