Breaking News: Greg Page Leaving The Wiggles
The rumors were true. Greg Page, the yellow Wiggle, is leaving The Wiggles. Long time understudy, Sam Moran, will be taking his place. He has already performed 150 shows in Greg’s absence.
Greg suffers from orthostatic intolerance, which makes it virtually impossible for him to conduct a normal, active life. What a sad, sad day. :(
Here’s a video of Greg’s farewell message. I admit to having watched it with a few tears in my eyes.
From the press release:
Greg has been suffering symptoms for many months, affecting his ability to perform. The condition is related to blood pressure and while in no way life threatening it affects his balance, breathing and coordination at unpredictable times and with varying severity. Greg has discovered he is genetically predisposed to this condition and that he now needs to focus on managing his health.
We love you, Greg. Get well soon!!! We’ll all be waiting for your guest performances.
What do you think of Sam Moran? Do you think his voice will be able to replace Greg’s?

[…] So, I wake up this morning to the official news that Greg Page is leaving The Wiggles. As I was watching Greg’s official good-bye on my laptop, the kids were standing with me. My one-year old sees Greg and starts saying, “giggle, giggle, giggle,” which is apparently his word for “wiggle.” This morning was the first time he said it, and he followed it immediately by starting to dance around the kitchen in a very Henry the Octopus-like fashion. […] I know this isn’t a popular subject, but I sometimes turn the TV on to let my daughter be entertained while I try to get something done. She loves to dance so the Wiggles is the perfect babysitter for a few minutes. However I just heard from Play Library that Greg Page is having to retire from the Wiggles due to a medical condition called Orthostatic Intolerance, a blood pressure disorder. How sad to know that he has performed his last “Hot Potato” for the kids. […]

My heart is deeply sadden that we will not see Greg “Wiggle” any more. My son is a fanatic. He is 18 mo old and he calls them Diggle, Diggle. We like Sam. Knowing him from the Hot Potato Live dvd. Somehow it is not the same but we will continue to enjoy and wiggle to all the song’s we know and love.

My oldest grandchild is 7 years old so I was introduced to the Wiggles many years ago. By far, they’re my favorite childrens entertainers. We are going to miss Greg terribly, it will not be the same without him. Thank God his condition is not life threatening. We pray God will bestow many blessings upon him. Thank you Greg for all the joy you brought to our lives. You’re the best!!

My 2-year-old daughter loves the Wiggles show since she’s a little baby. Every morning she wants to watch the 7 AMish show on the Disney Channel. We also got her the Wiggles DVD which is the best. She loves every songs and dances the whole time. I feel very sad that Greg is ill. Hope he would get better soon! God bless him. Greg is the lead singer in Wiggles and his voice is really wonderful. He is the best yellow wiggle!

The Wiggles have been a constant soundtrack in my home for the last seven years, sice I have three kids, the oldest seven and the youngest two.
It is sad to see Greg leave. We love him very much. We went to a concert four years ago, here in Canada and we loved it.
Farewell and keep well.
Bes wishes, Ana

We will miss Greg very much. The Wiggles are a constant sound in our home and car. My 3 year old is obsessed. We wish him the best of luck with his health. Although he will be missed greatly. We saw him in concert in July and it was well worth the money…we hope to be able to go again this year…but it will not be quite the same without Greg…
God Bless and best wishes,
Regina

The Wiggles have been a part of our home for about 5 years now. It started with my nephew, who could never get enough of them. I have a 17 month old, and he and I love the Wiggles. In fact my husband says he thinks I like to watch more than my son, and I think that’s true!!! We are very sad to see Greg go, but we know that his health is more important. He will be missed. Thank you Greg, for all of the great memories, and smiles, you will never know how much you and Anthony and Jeff and Murray have meant to us. God bless you!!!!!

I have been teaching pre-school music for 4 years and using The Wiggles fun songs as tools for getting the kids out of their shells. They love them because Greg’s voice is familiar and reminds them of a comfortable place such as their own home or mom’s car.
Now I am a mom and even though my son is only 9 months old I can turn on The Wiggles and as soon as he hears them he stops to listen. I can tell that Greg will be in my home for many years to come and I will definately keep him in my classroom! We love you Greg! We will miss you. God be with you all!

Best wishes to Greg. I’m glad to hear that the disease is not life threatening… I have a 6 year old whom grew up on the Wiggle’s with Greg - now I have a 1 year old who is about to start going through his Wiggles years. It will be weird to see Sam in yellow.
