Club Glam and Glitter
My daughter was recently invited to a birthday party at a local shop in our mall called Club Glam and Glitter. It is privately owned by Tara Setty, who describes the boutique as similar to Club Libby Lu.
I’d never heard of it, and wasn’t sure what to expect when we arrived at the party. Let me tell you, any girly-girl would love this place. Each girl at the party was treated to a makeover of glittery makeup and a fancy hairdo. They each were able to pick a make-believe theme for themselves (either princess, rock star or diva), and were allowed to wear a costume to fit their theme. They also were allowed to keep the headpiece that accompanied their make-believe personas. My daughter came home with yet another tiara, while others had a diva ponytail or a rock star headband. Another of the highlights was getting to fill their own lotion bottles and glittery makeup containers. Who knew how much they’d get a kick out of that?
The party included photos of the girls and a chance to fill their grab bags from tubs of items that little girls love. Having seen some of the makeup that some of the girls were grabbing, I was nervous as to what my daughter would bring home. There was a little nail poish and a bracelet in her stash, but also a notepad and a pencil. I was so proud. ;)
The prices started at about $12 (USD) to be able to make your own lotion and glitter makeup, and $20 (USD) and up for the makeovers. Not cheap (and at least not my dime this time), but a fun experience for the girls. Ms. Setty said they were looking at the possibilities of opening stores in other local malls, and of starting in-home parties as well.
