Harry Potter Camp
So, there’s just a few weeks left until the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. While they’re waiting for their copies to arrive, some kids are attending Harry Potter camps around the country. Our local children’s museum, The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, is hosting their Harry Potter Camp this week (and one of our little friends is there! I can’t wait to hear all about it.).
It seems like these day camps are a fun way to encourage kids’ excitement over math and science in a fun and exciting environment. I remember attending a day camp as a kid that was focused on science and math type classes. They were fun, but I can’t imagine that they would compare in the slighest to seeing your favorite book series come to life to be able to participate in it! Okay, so there aren’t probably any actual Dementors showing up (whew!), but I still imagine it’s a great time!
This article here talks more about one of these camps from a couple of years back. It’s fun to hear about their struggles in playing a game of Quidditch. I imagine that would be tough!
Do you know anyone who has attended Harry Potter Camp? How was their experience?
