Toys R Us Holiday Period Sales Were Up
Toys "R" Us reported Thursday that their holiday-period sales at the U.S. division stores rose by 3.1 percent.
The Wayne, N.J-based toy and baby-products retailer said sales were helped by marketing, store improvements and stocking of popular items including the Smart Cycle Physical Learning Arcade System from Fisher-Price and Wii and DS Lite from Nintendo.
I was surprised to hear this because of all the toy recalls. I just figured that toy sales would be down across the board and that toy stores would take a big hit. At the beginning of the holiday season everyone was reporting poor sales. Well, it seems that for Toys "R" Us that wasn’t the case.
