2008 New York Toy Fair Starts This Weekend
The 2008 New York Toy Fair starts on Sunday, February 17th and goes until Wednesday, February 20th.
What will be a big part of the fair? Most likely toy safety. It’s estimated that 15,000 buyers from 7,000 retailers will be coming to the fair. Many of the manufactures will be spending a big chunk of their time on toy safety, as well as showing off their latest toys.
Check back here, at Play Library, for all the latest updates and happenings from the Toy Fair.

“A Monarch Universe Children’s Picture Book,” trade cover and CD, will be on display at the Combined Book Exhibit of Toy Fair 2008, New York, Feb. 17-20.
“A Monarch Universe” is a children’s picture book available in trade cover, CD, and e-book, about a bright monarch butterfly dreaming of her universal connections.
“A Monarch Universe” contains beautiful artwork created by award-winning painter Todd Carter and lyrical text by Michaeleen O’Sullivan. The story is whimsically read in the electronic version by Betsie Bush. All of the contributors to “A Monarch Universe” are from Marquette, Michigan, where the project was published and printed.
The CD and E-book (download) contain two versions of this multimedia presentation, both in Adobe PDF format (requiring Adobe Acrobat Reader):
1. Audio reading synchronized with the artwork in an automatic slide-show format.
2. Printed text (no audio) displayed side-by-side the artwork and controlled manually to read at your own pace. Related web-resources are included at the end of this version.
“Plant MILKWEED FOR MONARCHS!
Please ask your friends fast.
Without Milkweed for Monarchs,
We might not always last.”
