George of the Jungle - Kids Love This Movie
What is it about the 1997 film George of the Jungle starring Brendan Fraser that kids love? I remember when this movie first came out on VHS and my nieces and nephews who were all preschool and grade school age at the time, absolutely loved it. They simply thought it was the funniest movie.
A month or so ago, my husband was at the library with our 3-year old triplets and stumbled upon a copy of George of the Jungle. Remembering how much our nieces and nephews enjoyed it when they were the same age that our triplets are now, he decided to give it a try. Suffice it to say, George of the Jungle became an instant favorite.
I guess kids just love slapstick comedy. They nearly double over with laughter when George swings into a tree again and again and yell along with the movie, screaming, “Watch out for that tree!” We’ve had to borrow this movie from the library over and over again. I think we are at the point now where we have to buy our own copy.
Have your kids seen George of the Jungle? If not (and they’re in preschool or grade school), get a copy. It’s perfect for a rainy summer day when they can’t go outside!
